# Filled Heading-Outline Card

## Completed example

Page title: Organize a Small Sticker Collection
Title placement: separate page-level title outside the article body.
Article-body sequence: H2, H3, H3, H2.

| Section | Parent | Intended rank | Section purpose |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sort the stickers | Article: Organize a Small Sticker Collection | H2 | Give stickers a temporary group before recording a location. |
| Group by theme | Sort the stickers | H3 | Put imagined plant stickers together and space stickers together. |
| Separate uncertain items | Sort the stickers | H3 | Put undecided-theme stickers in an Undecided group. |
| Record the location | Article: Organize a Small Sticker Collection | H2 | Record each group's name and folder pocket. |

Group by theme and Separate uncertain items are siblings with the same parent. Record the location closes the sorting subsections and returns to an article-level section.

## Repair notes

- Downward H2 to H4: consider H3 for the child, or identify a genuine missing intermediate section. Do not add an empty heading merely to fill a rank.
- Upward H4 to H2: closes the intervening subsections and starts a new main section; this is not the same skipped-descent issue.
- Font size or bold styling does not establish an element's heading rank.

The structural principles are paraphrased from W3C WAI's headings tutorial, checked in a retained primary-source snapshot on 8 October 2026: https://www.w3.org/WAI/tutorials/page-structure/headings/
The source also discusses fixed page-region exceptions. This card is not a whole-page conformance checklist.

## Reuse for your own article

Article title:
Title supplied by template or article body:

| Section | Parent | Intended rank | Question or action covered |
|---|---|---|---|
| Replace with your heading | Article title or named parent section | Choose a rank matching that relationship | State what this section delivers |

Before release, compare this record with the actual saved heading elements. Record any changed parent and adjust the intended rank accordingly. Check the whole published page separately; local Markdown rendering is not evidence of the final site's structure or an assistive-technology test.
