# Blog image size and crop plan

All assets, source dimensions, display slots, density assumptions and subject coordinates below are invented teaching inputs. No real image was inspected, exported, compressed, uploaded or tested. Calculated geometry is not visual verification.

## Filled teaching decisions

| Variant | Source image pixels | Slot CSS pixels | Density assumption | Crop x,y,width, height in source pixels | Target image pixels | Proposed export image pixels | Status |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| A-1 watering-can photograph | 3000 × 2000 | 800 × 450 | 1 | 300,300,2400,1350 | 800 × 450 | 800 × 450 | Within planned crop; visual check unperformed |
| A-2 same photograph crop | 3000 × 2000 | 800 × 450 | 2 | 300,300,2400,1350 | 1600 × 900 | 1600 × 900 | Within planned crop; visual check unperformed |
| B-1 process illustration | 1600 × 1200 | 600 × 450 | 1 | 0,0,1600,1200 | 600 × 450 | 600 × 450 | Whole-image scale; arrows unverified |
| C-source-bound labelled diagram | 900 × 600 | 600 × 400 | 2 | 0,0,900,600 | 1200 × 800 | 900 × 600 | Source-limited: actual planned ratio1.5, desired2 unmet; labels unverified |

A's invented critical box starts at x1100,y600 and is800 × 800 pixels. The proposed crop ends at x2700,y1650 and encloses that box. It removes300 from each side,300 from the top and350 from the bottom. Confirm the actual hand/spout/pot and useful context on a real source before export. A-2 scale:2400 ×(2/3)=1600 and1350 ×(2/3)=900. A-1 scale:2400 ×(1/3)=800 and1350 ×(1/3)=450.

B keeps every source pixel's location proportionately:600/1600=0.375;1200 ×0.375=450. Check whether arrows remain understandable after actual scaling.

C's density2 target is600 ×2=1200 by400 ×2=800, beyond its900 ×600 source. The source-bound proposal is900/600=1.5 image pixels per CSS pixel. Obtain a larger original or consider a450 ×300 CSS-pixel slot, which would fit900 ×600 at density2; that smaller display still requires a real label-legibility check.

## Copy a record for your own asset

Replace the teaching values; retain Unknown where evidence is missing. Do not use zero for Unknown. Copy a separate record for another crop, layout or export candidate.

- Asset and proposed variant name:
- Actual source file width and height in image pixels, and where checked: Unknown
- Intended display width and height in CSS pixels, layout/breakpoint and where checked: Unknown
- Slot aspect ratio: Unknown
- Explicit density assumption and why chosen: Unknown
- Calculated target width=CSS width×density; height=CSS height×density: Unknown
- Crop origin x,y and width, height in source pixels, or whole-source rectangle: Unknown
- Critical subject/text/context and its actual location: Unknown
- Proposed export width, height within the available source/crop: Unknown
- Source shortfall and next decision: Unknown
- Planned image-pixel/CSS-pixel ratio in both dimensions: Unknown
- Unperformed checks: crop meaning, arrows/text, actual export dimensions, desktop/phone layout and actual displayed candidate
- Actual export performed/date and resulting file evidence: Not performed
- Actual visual/layout check performed/date and finding: Not performed

Preparing these records does not implement srcset/sizes/picture or establish which file a browser loads. Check those actual serving choices separately. No file-size, loading-time or search-performance result is supplied.
